Hope Lutheran Church hosting blood drive

BRIGHTON — Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville will host a community blood drive from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 3 in its fellowship hall.

All donors receive a voucher for a $10 gift card and are entered to win a vacation.

For appointments to donate, contact the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-452-1097 or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5164 to locate the drive.

Donors who last gave blood on or before June 6 are eligible to give at this drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old can give with a parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin, including the Iowa City VA Health Care System.
