Lenten series underway at Hope Lutheran

BRIGHTON — Hope Lutheran Church is holding a Lenten series on “The Easter Experience” at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday through March 28.

Word of Life holding midweek soup supper, Lenten service

Word of Life Lutheran Church is inviting everyone to attend its midweek Lenten services at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays as it explores the question of Jesus’s identity from the perspective of those who encountered him.

Wednesday, those attending will hear the conversation between Pontius Pilate and his wife Procula.

A Lenten soup supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. before the service.

First Christian soup supper to benefit Take Away Hunger

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will host its monthly soup supper 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.

The menu includes soups, pies, relishes and Kenny’s Cornbread.

A freewill offering will be collected. Proceeds will benefit Take Away Hunger.

Take Away Hunger is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit operated by Don and Sandee Fields of Brighton. The organization fights worldwide hunger by providing millions of meals packed by local volunteers, including a group of churches in Fairfield and Libertyville.

Faith United Methodist Church hosting chicken, biscuit supper

LIBERTYVILLE — The United Methodist Women of Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville will have a chicken and biscuit supper March 10 at the church.

The menu will include chicken and biscuits, vegetables, salad bar, pie and cake.

A free will donation will be collected.

Carryout meals will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Dine-in will be 5-7 p.m.

Nazarene church revival services begin March 11

Fairfield Church of the Nazarene will hold revival services March 11-14.

The Rev. Terry Chapman will be preaching at the 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. services March 11, and again at 7 p.m. the evenings of March 12-14.

The March 12 service will be a healing service.
