Iowa State Financial Services Company holds annual meeting

The 18th annual meeting of the shareholders of Iowa State Financial Services Corporation was held in the lobby of the downtown branch of Iowa State Bank & Trust Company May 21.

David Eastburn was appointed the chairman and presiding officer, while Deanne Hickenbottom was appointed as the secretary of the meeting.

Eastburn was elected as the president of the corporation and the chairman of the board of directors for Iowa State Bank & Trust Company, and Deanne Hickenbottom was chosen as the corporation’s chief financial officer and its secretary.

Eastburn reviewed the financial condition of the organization and thanked the shareholders for their support. Additionally, he expressed appreciation for the help of the board, the bank officers, and all of the staff for their hard work and efforts during this time of tremendous growth.

Eastburn went on to say, “Despite economic and competitive pressures, the banks, in particular Iowa State Bank & Trust, have moved in a very positive direction. Strategic decisions made over the past several years have resulted in very robust financial results. The entire organization is in a very strong position to enjoy success for years to come.”

As examples of this, Eastburn noted that, “Iowa State Bank is focused on providing its customers and community with the resources that they need, such as new cash rewards checking programs and fixed rate home loans. The bank has expanded its scholarship program for local high school graduates and is focused on supporting local nonprofit organizations through volunteerism and cash donations. The diversity of our involvement in community-based organizations is great and the time, money, and talents donated to different events, boards and associations continues to set Iowa State Bank apart.”

A resolution from the shareholders was passed unanimously approving all of the actions of the directors and officers of the corporation for 2017. Additionally, Eastburn, Sarah Cochran, Aaron Kness, and Mark Walther were unanimously re-elected to the board of directors for a three-year term of office.

In other action, the board of directors of Iowa State Bank & Trust Company unanimously elected Aaron Kness as president and CEO, Jared Lyle as senior vice president and senior lending officer, Sheri Stone as vice president and cashier, Dena Morrissey as vice president of customer service and customer service manager, Karl Metcalf as vice president of commercial lending, Sue Buch as vice president of real estate lending, Susan Booth as vice president of consumer lending, Russ McGee as vice president of ag lending, Laurie Smith as vice president of investments and cash management, Tami Kramer as vice president of lending administration, Samuel Eastburn as assistant vice president — bank security.
