Jackie ‘Jack’ Hagans – 1942-2017

Jackie “Jack” Hagans, 75, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Per his wishes the body has been cremated. A private family service will be at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice. Cards and memorials can be mailed to Laura “Chris” Wagner, 824 Prosser St., Ottumwa 52501.

Mr. Hagans was born Jan. 14, 1942, to Paul and Georgia Miles Hagans. He married Luella Calhoun Aug. 12, 1960. She died Sept. 25, 2015.

Mr. Hagans lived all his life in Fairfield. He worked for Heckethorn Roofing and Garrison Contractors & Co.

Mr. Hagans enjoyed horseback riding, his mules, racoon hunting and latching western movies.

Survivors include: children, Rick (Lucy)Hagans of Selma, Laura “Chris” (Donald) Wagner of Ottumwa and Jack Hagans II of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Richard Hagans of Brighton; and sisters, Carol Hagans Branstetter and Patty Heckethorn of Fairfield.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Cindy Blythe; brother, Bud Hagans; and sisters, Maxine Holmes, Shirley Wolverton and Violet Scotton.
