James Matthew Wehr, 38, of rural Keota, died suddenly Wednesday, May 22, 2013.

A Mass of Christian burial is at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Troy Richmond officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Keota.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established for Keota QRS.

Mr. Wehr was born Jan. 12, 1975, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Eugene “Gene” Richard and Linda Sue Bond Wehr.

He attended Keota High School and worked as a hog farmer.

He enjoyed farming, gardening, riding four wheelers and his pets.

Survivors include three sisters, Jackie Hinshaw and spouse Dennis of Richland, Gena Leyden and spouse Matt of Columbus Junction and Jeri Sieren and spouse Aaron of Keota; and one brother, Jason Wehr of Keota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
