Jefferson County Farm Bureau awards scholarship

Jefferson County Farm Bureau Vice President Sara Adrian presented a scholarship to Pekin High School graduating senior Allie Philips during the school’s recent awards program.

Philips is the daughter of Dennis and Sondra Philips of Ollie. She plans to attend Indian Hills Community College for two years and then transfer to Iowa State University to major in biology or animal science.

Philips’s high school activities include FFA, Bake Shop, dance team, girls basketball and wrestling manager, volleyball, track and National Honor Society.

The Jefferson County Farm Bureau also presented scholarships to Fairfield High School graduating seniors Allison Angstead and Makayla Kessel during the Senior Awards Program May 21.

Angstead is the daughter of Larry and Paula Angstead of Fairfield. She plans to attend ISU to major in nutrition science/agriculture business.

Kessel is the daughter of Steve and Lori Kessel of Fairfield. She plans to attend Georgetown University and will be studying international relationships, with a major in international political economy.
