Jefferson County PM will host a community blood drive from 2-7 p.m. Jan. 9 in the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Cambridge Learning Center.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Nov. 14 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will receive a voucher for a knit beanie or a $5 Starbucks e-gift card.

Batavia Community

BATAVIA — Batavia Community will host a community blood drive from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Batavia Community/Senior Center.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Nov. 14 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will receive a voucher for a knit beanie or a $5 Starbucks e-gift card.

Donor information

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a completed parental permission form is eligible to donate. The form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds, and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. For questions about eligibility, call the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center at 800-747-5401.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center.
