Jefferson County works on Glasgow, Germanville roads

By Nicole Major, Ledger staff writer | Sep 06, 2017

Those traveling on Glasgow Road Tuesday, experienced some traffic delays due to road construction crews working on the road.

“Denco [Highway Construction] is doing the work,” said Jefferson County Supervisor Lee Dimmitt of the Mingo company. “They are doing crack sealing, and it will probably be kind of a rough ride until that sealant gets in.”

Dimmitt said that usually, after road sealant jobs there could be raised areas in the road.

“It will likely go back down with normal traffic, but if time permits, we will go back out there and smooth it down,” he said.

Dimmitt said that work on Germanville Road, which started around two weeks ago, was nearing completion.

“It should be done Friday,” Dimmitt said.

“There’s still some patching that has to take place on Germanville Road, but that should all be done by Friday,” said Mark Bell with the Jefferson County Road Department.

In other road news, county engineer Scott Cline said that the bridge on 146th Boulevard, underwent deck repairs during late August. The bridge reopened Tuesday for all traffic.
