Keokuk edges Fairfield on road

May 20, 2014

The Fairfield girls’ soccer team lost to Keokuk 4-2 Monday night at Trojan Stadium.

Huma Liptak scored two goals for Fairfield. Morgan Neil had one assist.

“Keokuk was a tough team. However we had a couple costly errors which costed us two goals,” Fairfield coach Michiel Hekker said. “We play them again on Friday. Hopefully we can limit our errors and get a win.”

The 8-3 Trojans still has a chance to get a portion of the Southeast Conference title. Fairfield is 4-1 in conference games, but still has to play Washington, Mt. Pleasant and Keokuk. The Chiefs are 7-0 in the conference, meaning Fairfield will need to win out to tie for the conference title.

Fairfield travels to Washington on Thursday.
