Kunkle, Hanshaw sworn in as health center trustees

Tom Kunkle and Greg Hanshaw were sworn into the Jefferson County Health Center Board of Trustees during the board’s meeting Monday evening after being elected in the Nov. 6 general election.

Kunkle has been a trustee on the board since January 2005 and was elected vice chairman in 2011. Kunkle retired as director of human resources at The Dexter Company. He has a bachelor of business administration and industrial relations from University of Iowa. He is a member of the Fairfield Elks Lodge, the Fairfield Golf & Country Club and First United Methodist Church.

Hanshaw, human resource manager of Community 1st Credit Union, was appointed to the board of trustees in December 2011 to fulfill Randy Menke’s term on the board, which ended this year. Menke resigned because he was relocated by his employer, Hy-Vee Inc. Hanshaw is retired from a 31-year career with the Iowa Army National Guard’s 34th Army Band. He is a member of the Fairfield Municipal Band and First Baptist Church. He has served on numerous board and committees in Fairfield and Jefferson County.

The seven-member board governs the Jefferson County Health Center and represents the community in health-care matters.

Other trustees are: chairman Bob Keller, Renee Rebling, Joann Tedrow, Julie Greeson and Merlin Miller.
