The Fairfield girls’ basketball team won big Tuesday night over Oskaloosa.

Eight minutes into the game, it was 23-2 in favor of Fairfield, and if the Trojans weren’t feeling confident at that point, the Indians had to be struggling with their confidence at least.

An 11-4 advantage in the second period all but cemented the victory and a 16-9 third quarter, again in favor of Fairfield, put the nail in the coffin.

The Trojans showed mercy in the final frame, scoring only five points and saving some face for Osky who managed a 13 point effort that basically doubled thier offensive output.

The final score was 55-28 but was never that close.

The win improves Fairfield’s record to 2-0 and next up for the Lady Trojans will be a trip to Mt. Pleasant Friday night in Fairfield’s SEC opener against the Panthers.
