Library showing free movie

Feb 19, 2018

Fairfield Public Library will show a 2017 American biographical legal drama film at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The film is based on the true story of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and one of the landmark cases of his life. In 1940, Marshall is an NAACP lawyer traveling the country defending people of color who are wrongly accused of crimes because of racial prejudice. He is sent to Bridgeport, Connecticut, to defend a chauffeur accused of rape by his white employers. Marshall partners with a young Jewish lawyer, and they mount a defense in an environment of racism and anti-Semitism.

The movie is PG13, and runs for one hour and 58 minutes.

Doors open at 7 p.m. The movie starts at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited.

Donations for the film and organic popcorn help the library renew its movie licenses. Go to www2.youseemore.com/fairfield.
