Lorna Jean Wesely, 85, of Lockridge, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

The body has been cremated, there is no funeral service. Burial will be in the Lockridge Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.

Memorials may be directed to the Lockridge Fire and Rescue in her memory.

Mrs. Wesely was born March 17, 1928, in Burlington, the daughter of Dillon and Nina Spangler Graff.  She married George Wesely March 26, 1948, in Iowa City.

She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School.

She had worked at Sheaffer Pen Company in Mount Pleasant for several years.

She and her husband farmed in the Trenton and White Oak area, and later bought their own farm northeast of Lockridge in 1964.

She was a member of the New Sweden United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband George of Lockridge; five children, Mike Wesely and spouse Marsha of Lockridge, Dan Wesely and spouse Kay of Salem, Jackie McLachlan of Mount Pleasant, Dennis Wesely and spouse Julie, Curtus Wesely and Karla Schafer all of Lockridge; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Ross of Mount Pleasant and Glenda Bottorff of Adel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gerald.
