Management Development Program offered in Fairfield

Sep 11, 2017

The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce announced its partnership with ATW Training Solutions of Urbandale to bring a Management Development Program to the Greater Fairfield area beginning in October.

The six-month program is a manger/leader-level program designed to develop individuals in these roles for better workplace performance. Attendees participate in a variety of activities ranging from classroom experiences to self-study activities like webinars and book reads. This approach, over a period of time, has proved effective at changing workplace habits and led to better productivity.

The program has been delivered in the Fairfield area before. Lori Schaefer of Agri-Industrial Plastics has engaged leaders in the program in the past. She noted, “This program is great. We’ve had several individuals participate and we found that the topics apply directly to what they encounter every day in their work environment. The best thing is that they can immediately start implementing the things they are learning.”

The Management Development program is completely different from the chamber’s “Leadership Fairfield” program which also starts this fall.

“Leadership Fairfield gives participants an in-depth look at the various sectors of the Fairfield community as well as expanding the participants professional network and leadership skills,” said chamber executive director Detra Dettmann. “However, the Management Development Program really is honed in on management ... including sessions on interviewing and hiring, goal setting for leaders, situational leadership, emotional intelligence, conducting performance appraisals, leading different behavioral styles, and coaching and feedback essentials.”

Registrations are being accepted now. Contact the chamber at 472-2111 or visit www.FairfieldIowa.com.
