Melvin Duane Lundquist, 72 of Fairfield, died Wednesday Feb. 27, 2013, at Jefferson County Health Center.

A funeral is at 1 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Douds at a later date.

Family will receive family and friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Lundquist was born May 16, 1940, in Iowa City, the son of Ernest and Vivian Maxine Banks Lundquist. He married Betty Lou Hatton June 16, 1969.

He worked at Malleable Iron for 25 years and lived in Fairfield most of his life.

He was a member of the American Legion in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife Betty of Fairfield; two daughters, Brenda Downs and husband Jim of Davenport and Connie Carter of Illinois; two sons, Todd and Eric Lundquist of Fairfield; one brother, Frank Lundquist of Des Moines; two sisters, Jeanie Kings of St. Louis and Vera Ricket of Douds; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl and Eddie; one sister, Vivian Shull; and one stillborn son, Stevie Ray.
