Merle Edward Adler, 64, of Fairfield, died Saturday Oct. 6, 2012, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints with the Rev. Jason Titze officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Visitation will be at Raymond Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday with the family present.

Mr. Adler was born Oct. 14, 1947 in Ottumwa the son of Enius and Mary Morgan Kieger. He married Marilyn VanBlaricom Oct. 14, 1975 in Fairfield.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tracy Adler of Ottumwa, Daren Adler of Fort Madison, Chris Dietters of Ottumwa and Mark Alder of Fairfield; two daughters, Stacy Adler of Ottumwa and Angie Townsend of Ottumwa; one brother, Gerald Sapp Jr. of Ottumwa; one sister, Dorothy Aeschliman; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
