The Methodist Episcopal Church of Fairfield, which would later become First United Methodist Church, was founded in 1840 with the mission of sharing the message of Jesus Christ.

The church community says it is thankful for the faithful servants of God who planted the seeds of faith here and it continues in their mission.

“We look at our history, thankful for where we have been and we are excited for the future that God has in store for us,” said the Rev. Todd Holman. “Our church is passionate about sharing the love of God and meeting the needs of people in the community. We are especially happy for the opportunity to be involved with Carry On Bags, a ministry beginning this fall which will provide a bag of food each Friday for participating students in our school systems.”
