Milestones offering free Mandatory Reporter training July 20 in Keosauqua

KEOSAUQUA — Milestones Area Agency on Aging is offering an adult/elder abuse Mandatory Reporter training from 1-3 p.m. July 20 at the Keosauqua Senior Center.

This class fulfills the mandatory reporter training requirements necessary for elder care providers.

There is no cost to attend.

According to Milestones officials, for every case of reported dependent adult/elder abuse, another 24 go unreported.

The officials also say dependent adult/elder abuse is on the rise and in all types such as emotional, financial, physical and social abuse plus neglect,

so there is more need than ever to learn how to protect older and dependent adults age 18 and older and to help ensure everyone is able to grow older safely.
