A few hundred people turned out for the free movie Friday in Fairfield’s Central Park. The event was the second in a series of free movies that will be shown in Central Park on a monthly basis through October. The first movie was “Peter Rabbit,” and this time the audience got to see “The Lion King.” Upcoming movies are “Wonder” on Aug. 12, “Sherlock Gnomes” on Sept. 21 and “Coco” on Oct. 12. The series is supported by Fairfield Park and Recreation, Fairfield First Fridays and Fairfield Public Library. Concessions and free-will offerings will be used to fund next year’s summer movie series, purchasing movie rights and maintaining the equipment. The organizers have also collected non-perishable food items for The Lord’s Cupboard.
