Myrtle Taube — 1914-2017

Myrtle Evelyn Taube, 102, of Farmington, died Monday, March 13, 2017, at West Point Care Center in West Point.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Farmington, with the Rev. Chad Welch officiating. Burial will be at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington.

Friends can call between 1-7 p.m. Wednesday at Schmitz Funeral Home in Farmington.The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Taube was born July 16, 1914, to Leonard A. and Nettie Elnora Davis Sayre. She married Willie “Bill” Gustav Taube June 12, 1937, in Burlington. He died Oct. 21, 1996.

Mrs. Taube graduated from Burlington High School in 1932. She and her family moved to Van Buren County in March 1942.

Mrs. Taube was a member of First Baptist Church in Farmington and the Farmington Cemetery Association.

Mrs. Taube enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and feeding birds in the winter.

Survivors include: sons, William L. (Ruth) Taube of Aho, Arizona, Daniel E. Taube of Douds, and Joel A. (Rhonda) Taube of Donnellson; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; infant siblings, Nellie and Milton Edward; one grandson; and daughter-in-law Donna Taube.
