No congregate meal served Tuesday on Fourth of July

Fairfield Senior Citizen Center has listed its congregate meals menu for the coming week.

Monday – Z-Rib on bun, macaroni salad, citrus carrots, watermelon, Fourth of July cookie.

Tuesday – All nutrition centers will be closed in observance of Independence Day. Contact the local nutrition center for options.

Wednesday – braised liver and onions, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, lima beans, angel food cake, strawberries.

Thursday – baked chicken, sweet potatoes, crispy-creamy spinach, peaches and bananas.

July 7 – roast pork loin, oven- brown potatoes, winter mix vegetables with cheese sauce, Tomato Spoon Salad, pineapple crisp.

Each meal includes wheat dinner roll or bread, unless another bread item is listed, margarine and skim milk.

Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center, and at noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Lockridge Senior Center.

Reservations for meals must be made one day in advance. Reservations at the Fairfield site can be made at the senior center or by calling 472-4403. For reservations at the Lockridge site, call 319-696-2086.

For people 60 years of age and older and their spouse of any age, there is a suggested contribution based on income range. Individuals younger than 60 pay the full meal charge as posted at the meal site.

Check at the meal sites for meal options, such as shelf-stable meals or frozen meals, to use on days when no meal is served at the center.

Bingo is scheduled to be played from 12:15-1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Fairfield site.
