Nominations open for Latino Hall of Fame

May 11, 2017

DES MOINES – To celebrate Latino heritage and honor Latinos who have made outstanding and significant cultural, political, social, and economic contributions to Iowa, the Iowa of Commission of Latino Affairs established the Iowa Latino Hall of Fame.

Each year, the commission and the governor will induct three Latinos into the Hall of Fame, paying tribute to them and setting them forth as role models for others.

The commission is accepting nominations for the Iowa Latino Hall of Fame until July 1.

The awards will be presented at the Iowa Latino Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, held in conjunction with Latino Heritage Month, Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, which celebrates the Latino heritage, culture, and contributions.
