Norris H. Carlson, 89, of Lockridge, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at home.

A funeral is at 10 a.m. Friday at New Sweden United Methodist Church in Lockridge.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Sweden Cemetery Association.

Mr. Carlson was born May 31, 1923, at Jefferson County Hospital, the son of Ross Walter and Nellie May Hill Carlson. He married Roberta Jessie Eden May 10, 1945, at her parents’ home south of Lockridge.

He attended school in Lockridge through his freshmen year of high school.

He was a lifetime farmer on the farm where he was raised.

He was one of the founding members of the Lockridge Rough Rider Saddle Club.

He was a charter member of the New Sweden United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta; four children, June Calhoun and husband Don of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Jerry Carlson and wife Pat of Tampa, Fla., Nell Moore and husband Jack of Bloomfield and Kenneth Carlson and wife Rita of Fairfield; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Walter Edward Carlson Jr. and Vincent Cyrus Carlson.
