Jan 29, 2018

Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation announced scholarship availability

The Ottumwa Regional Legacy Foundation announces that it will be accepting applications to its Laboratory Control Ltd. Health Career Scholarship Program for the 2018-19 school year beginning Thursday.

Since 2004, when the program was developed, nearly $350,000 has been provided in scholarship support to students in southeast Iowa. The goal of this scholarship program is to build relationships and provide support for homegrown medical students in the hopes that they will someday return to the community to practice.

Eligible applicants must reside in one of the following counties in Iowa: Appanoose, Davis, Jasper, Jefferson, Henry, Keokuk, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren and Wapello. Qualified applicants must also be enrolled in a state or nationally accredited program of study that focuses on an eligible health care field of study, have graduated high school by September 2018, have at least 30 hours of college credit and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Scholarship awards are paid directly to the successful applicant’s college or university and can be used for education expenses, including tuition, books and other fees.

Applicants can submit their online application at www.orlf.org. No paper applications will be accepted. The deadline for application submission is midnight on March 31.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting Amy Nossaman at 641-455-5260, via email at anossaman@orlf.org or by visiting the foundation’s website at www.orlf.org.
