Pacha, Mottet wed in double-ring ceremony

Taryn Kathleen Pacha and Curtis Garrett Mottet, both of Brighton, were united in marriage Saturday, July 7, 2012, at an afternoon ceremony at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Robert Striegel officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Kierston Pacha of Brighton. The groom is the son of Daniel and Barbara Mottet of Brighton.

Pianist Evelyn Pacha played selections chosen by the couple while Tom Voorhees served as the cantor. Kathleen Yochum presented the first two readings selected by the bride and groom. Quinn and Ellie Ledger served as altar servers during the ceremony. Gifts were presented by the Doug Mottet family.

The bride wore an alabaster full-length A-line gown. The dress was embellished with flowers and intricate ivory lace and beading. She had a matching chapel-length veil with similar lace and beading. She carried a bouquet of sunflowers and purple hydrangeas wrapped with a rosary given to her by her great-grandmother, Mildred Yochum. The bride also wore white cowboy boots.

Samantha Greiner, wearing a yellow knee-length sundress and carrying purple hydrangeas, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids Hannah Keane, Shannon Low and Dana Mottet all wore purple knee-length sundresses and carried sunflowers. The girls in the wedding party all wore matching cowboy boots.

Marcus Clarahan served as the groom’s best man wearing a yellow tie to match the maid of honor. Groomsmen included Cody and Kyle Sobaski and Tyler Pacha wearing purple ties. All the men wore yellow sunflower boutonnieres.

Ashley Kinsella served as flower girl, while Abbi Kinsella served as the bride’s paige. Joseph Lamansky served as the ringbearer. Brent Pacha, Barry Johnson and Kyle Glandon assisted as ushers.

Following the ceremony, the couple held a reception at the lodge at Lake Darling State Park, where guests enjoyed food and dancing. Hosts were Harry and Mary Overturff and Rob and Julie Johnson.

The bride, a graduate of Fairfield High School and the University of Iowa, works for the Iowa City Community School District and is finishing a master’s degree in school counseling from the University of Iowa. The groom, a graduate of Washington High School and Iowa State University works at Vision Ag LLC in Richland in agronomy sales.

After a honeymoon trip to Sanibel Islands in Florida in August, the couple resides in rural Fairfield.
