Packwood home to pickleball courts

By Dave Dickey | Jul 20, 2017

To the editor:

After checking with Fairfield’s beautiful new Cambridge Rec Center staff, I discovered that Packwood has more publicly owned permanent pickleball courts than Fairfield. Pickleball is reportedly the fastest growing sport in America, certainly in Jefferson County.

I thought that it was rather unusual that a small town the size of Packwood, even the nice little town that it is, should have more publicly owned permanent pickleball courts than a town the size of Fairfield, nice town that it is.

So, if any of the Fairfield pickleball players, lacking a permanent publicly owned pickleball court to play on, would like to venture out to Packwood, nice little town that it is, we would certainly welcome you to play pickleball on Packwood’s, recently expanded, publicly owned permanent pickleball court. Packwood’s publicly owned permanent pickleball courts are located on the south end of Main Street at the Packwood Rec Offcenter.

– Dave Dickey, Mayor of Packwood (due to lack of competition)
