Pekin boys, girls win at Sully

SULLY – The Panthers had a terrific cross-country meet Thursday at Lynville-Sully as both boys and girls brought home first-place trophies.

The boys won their division by an eyelash, edging Pella Christian 64 to 67. Other finishers on the boys were: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 107, Davis County 123, Montezuma 167, Baxter 167, PCM 180, Collins-Maxwell 192, Colfax-Mingo 196, Southeast Warren 230, Lynville-Sully 268 and Pleasantville 312.

The girls won their meet with a little more breathing room, 49 to 58 over Baxter. Other finishers were: PCM 89, Lynville-Sully 117, Davis County 128, Colfax-Mingo 145, Collins-Maxwell 160, Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 226, English Valleys 251, Montezuma 263, North Tama 269, and Pleasantville 308.



Pekin’s Colton Glosser won the 5 kilometer race with a time of 17:52. Isaiah Wittrock added three points to the total with his third-place finish in a time of 18:52. Other Panther boys were: Sam Roth, 19th, 19:49; Tanner Conger, 20th, 19:50; Brady Millikin, 24th, 20:04; Clayton Greiner, 79th, 23:23; Brad Gaines, 93rd, 24:13; Cole Earnest, 97th, 24:30; and Kaden Pollock, 132nd, 32:05.



Remi Duwa set the pace for the Pekin girls with a time of 22:06, good for seventh. Zoey Wright and Hollie Loper finished 12th and 13th, respectively, with times of 23:08 and 23:16. Other Pekin girls were: Kaitlyn Glosser, 16th, 23:31; Hunter Lock, 21st, 24:15; Kelly Myers, 27th, 25:01; Jordyn Earnest, 31st, 25:24; Gracie Baetsle, 41st, 26:31; Sammi Reinier, 70th, 28:58; Kodi Dailey, 82nd, 30:06; Kira Smith, 87th, 30:44; Shannon Saeger, 92nd, 31:40; Tara Kielkopf, 95th, 31:49; Makenna Myers, 106th, 34:41; Katie Jones, 108th, 35:00; Mackenzie Manley, 112nd, 36:46; Megan Rohr, 126th.
