The Pekin girls’ basketball team recently traveled to Grand View University in Des Moines where they played nine games over a two day span.

Head Coach Davis Eidahl said about the trip, “What I liked about our games was the improvement the girls showed. For many, this was the first time they have played high school games,” explained the tenured teacher of the game who continued. “The girls came away with learning much about high school basketball, and our two seniors, Haley [Gambell] and Kelly [Myers] showed they can be leaders on the court.”

The Panthers were 22-3 last season, splitting with Mediapolis, and losing to Central Lee in the SEISC shootout, before falling to Grundy Center 44-36 at LeGrand High School in the fourth round of the playoffs after earning a first-round bye.
