Pekin High School hosting blood drive

PACKWOOD — Pekin High School will host a community blood drive from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in its Commons.

Donors who last gave blood on or before Sept. 14 are eligible to give at this drive.

For appointments to donate, contact Ms. Black or a student council member or visit www.bloodcenterimpact.org and use code 5069 to locate the drive.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, although a 16-year-old with a completed parental permission form also can give. The form is available through www.bloodcenter.org. Donors must weigh more than 110 pounds and have a photo I.D. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure can be accepted as eligible donors. Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is the provider of blood and blood components to more than 90 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin. It is the exclusive provider to Jefferson County Health Center.
