Pekin will have a large contingency at the Iowa State Track Meet which begins on Thursday.

Pekin will contend for the Class 1A overall championship.

“Our goal is to win it,” said Pekin head coach Davis Eidahl. “But if not, we’d like to finish in second or third.

“With the 4x8, 4x4, 4x1, 4x2 and the distance medley, we’d like to be in the top half at state. But I think the boys competing for us in each of those races have set their goals to win.”
