Playoffs start tonight for Pekin

By Justin Webster | Oct 27, 2017

HUDSON – Coach Bud Blakely and his 8-1 Panthers travel to 9-0 Hudson tonight to face the Class A District 5 champions in the first round of the playoffs.

Blakely and his squad finished second in district 6 behind 9-0 Lynnville-Sully and just ahead of third place 6-2 New London, who travels to Sully tonight as an at-large to face the Hawks.

The winner of the A-6 rematch will face the Pekin/Hudson winner next Friday for a trip to the UNI-Dome for state football Nov. 10.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and with a win tonight, Coach Blakely can save his mapquest directions in case they make it to the state semi-finals as Hudson is essentially a suburb of Cedar Falls.
