Police investigate bullet hole

By Nicole Major, Ledger staff writer | Feb 27, 2017

Fairfield resident Thomas Vandel checked on his unoccupied residence around 2:18 p.m. Friday, and found a bullet hole in a window.

“We’re hoping that maybe if we get this out there we’ll get some leads,” said Fairfield Police Chief Dave Thomas about the bullet hole found at Vandel’s residence in the 600 block of East Lowe Avenue.

Officer Chris Raymer investigated the scene and found that the bullet passed through a wall and into a closet inside the house.

“Nobody heard any shots fired,” Thomas said, adding that during the last year, crimes involving weapons have increased in Fairfield.

“Criminal mischief was down, but more serious crimes, such as aggravated assault, which is a very serious assault or the displaying of a dangerous weapon have increased,” he said.

Thomas said anyone with information about this incident should contact the Fairfield Police Department at 472-4146.
