Police investigate slew of burglaries

Oct 07, 2016

The Fairfield Police Department responded to nearly a dozen reports of vehicle break-ins Tuesday night.

The vehicle burglaries occurred throughout town including Sunset Drive, East Adams Avenue, Fifth Street and Grimes Avenue.

“There’s not really a rhyme or reason as to why this happened, it’s just all over town and sporadic,” said officer Tyler Rysdam.

Capt. Colin Smith said the case is under investigation.

“We’re working on it and we don’t want to tell people what we have. We haven’t made any arrests. We do have leads that we’re running down and there are some suspects, but nobody has been charged at this point,” Smith said.

If anyone has information regarding this case, contact Smith at 472-4146.

Hi Steven and Julie. The phone number was misreported. It is 472-4146. I have updated the story to reflect the correct number.
