The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Friday

7:43 a.m. — Garrett Ray Hird, 24, of Stockport was cited for speeding in the 2200 block of Glasgow Road.

9:40 a.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued in the 700 block of West Burlington.

10:39 a.m. — A counterfeit bill was investigated at MidWestOne Bank.

11:53 a.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued at Ninth and Burlington.

1:40 p.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued at Fifth and Monroe.

2:10 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the alley in the 400 block of Kirkwood.

2:52 p.m. — A simple assault was investigated at Buchanan and D.

3:14 p.m. — A civil dispute was reported in the 600 block of South Seventh.

4:39 p.m. — Phone harassment was investigated in the 2000 block of South Main.

4:42 p.m. — A traffic accident was reported in the 1800 block of West Stone.

10:36 p.m. — Gary Post was arrested on a warrant from Wapello County in the 2700 block of West Burlington.

Saturday

4:44 a.m. — A motorist was assisted with traffic control from Court Street to Fourth Street.

7:05 a.m. — A business alarm sounded in the 50 block of South Fourth.

8:14 a.m. — A utilities hazard was reported in the 600 block of West Van Buren.

8:58 a.m. — A traffic accident was reported at milemarker 207, eastbound Highway 34.

9:05 a.m. — A traffic accident was reported at milemarker 208, westbound Highway 34. A white Dodge truck was in the ditch.

9:43 a.m. — A silver Dodge Dakota was stopped for no plates at Sixth and Van Buren. Gene Cole was arrested on an Ottumwa warrant for fifth-degree theft. A verbal warning was issued for no plates.

12:25 p.m. — A green Chevy Suburban was stopped for no plates at Sixth and Van Buren. Austin J. Johnston was arrested on an Ottumwa warrant for fifth-degree theft, cited for driving under suspension, and given a verbal warning for no plates.

4:12 p.m. — Police assisted the ambulance in the 400 block of Highland.

5:41 p.m. — Bad weather was reported.

5:50 p.m. — Trespassing was reported in the 200 block of South 15th Street.

6:03 p.m. — Theft was investigated in the 800 block of West Grimes.

6:53 p.m. — Bad weather was reported.

7:46 p.m. — An intoxicated person was reported in the 200 block of West Broadway.

8:19 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of North F.

Sunday

3:13 a.m. — Police assisted with a fire call in the 2100 block of South Main.

8:20 a.m. — Police investigated a vehicle reported stolen in the 600 block of South Sixth.

10:28 a.m. — Police investigated identity theft in the 800 block of East Burlington.

12:33 p.m. — Harassment was reported in the 300 block of North C.

1:47 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a traffic violation in the 900 block of North Ninth.

3:12 p.m. — A report about an animal in the 400 block of West Madison was received.

4:03 p.m. — Animal abuse was investigated in the 600 block of West Monroe.

4:22 p.m. — A railroad track crossing arm malfunction was reported on North B.

6:06 p.m. — Joshua Randall Meth, 28, of Fairfield, was arrested at C and Washington and charged with disorderly conduct.

8:17 p.m. — Brody Scott Reid, 23, of Fairfield, was arrested in the 1200 block of West Grimes and charged with disorderly conduct.

8:27 p.m. — A civil dispute was reported in the 300 block of East Briggs.

8:57 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 800 block of North Ninth. A caller checked on her barking dog and saw someone wearing a black hoodie in the backyard. The person jumped back over the fence and ran.

10:09 p.m. — Police investigated simple assault reported in the 600 block of West Jackson.

11:12 p.m. — Chasity Leann Smith, 39, of Fairfield, was arrested in the 500 block of West Depot and charged with domestic abuse assault.

Monday

2:43 a.m. — A utilities hazard was reported in the 900 block of West Jefferson.
