Police Report

The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Thursday

12:10 a.m. — Warrant service was provided in the 200 block of East Buchanan.

12:19 a.m. — A noise complaint was made in the 2300 block of West Burlington.

12:34 a.m. — A crossing arm malfunction was reported at Fourth and the railroad.

12:39 a.m. — Warrant service was provided in the 600 block of West Monroe.

5:13 a.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 200 block of East Buchanan.

5:56 a.m. — Bad weather was reported.

6:24 a.m. — A domestic disturbance — a verbal argument — was reported in the 800 block of South Main.

7:01 a.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office at a vehicle accident on Highway 34 west of Exit 214. The driver lost control of the vehicle. All occupants were OK.

9:43 a.m. — A loose dog was reported at Third and Washington.

10:10 a.m. — A parking concern in the 1101 block of West Adams Court was reported. The vehicle was parked legally.

10:29 a.m. — A verbal warning for speed was issued at 32nd and Burlington.

1:21 p.m. — Extra patrol was requested in the 800 block of South Third.

1:27 p.m. — A vehicle accident was reported in the 2000 block of South Main.

1:29 p.m. — Police investigated a theft on Gear Avenue.

3:59 p.m. — A possible assault was reported in the 300 block of West Madison.

4:06 p.m. — John Lane, 32, of Fairfield, was arrested at Jefferson County Law Center on a warrant for failure to appear.

5:14 p.m. — A parking complaint in the 100 block of West Adams was reported.

5:37 p.m. — Police investigated theft reported in the 300 block of North Court.

6:21 p.m. — A caller could hear a neighbor’s smoke alarm sounding, but wasn’t sure which neighbor’s house it was at. She didn’t see smoke or flames or smell anything. Police checked the area, but did not locate anything.

6:52 p.m. — A domestic disturbance was reported in the 200 block of East Burlington. It was a civil issue.

7:25 p.m. — Police provided warrant service in the 50 block of North Court.

7:52 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Main and Madison because the vehicle description did not match the plates. The driver has just traded a vehicle and placed the old plates on the new vehicle per the Iowa Department of Transportation.

8:17 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for passing in a no-passing zone in the 1300 block of West Burlington.

9:12 p.m. — Traffic violations were reported in the 200 block of North 28th. A vehicle was doing donuts on the grass.

9:17 p.m. — An animal concern was reported on Briggs between Third and Fourth streets.

9:25 p.m. — A caller asked the police to drive through a business’s parking lot in the 2200 block of West Burlington after a “strange interaction” with someone. Police drive drove through the lot.

9:41 p.m. — A verbal warning for failure to yield was issued at Briggs and Second.

11:29 p.m. — A verbal warning for a driver-side headlight outage was issued at Fourth and Fillmore.
