The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Monday

4:25 p.m. — Police investigated theft (shoplifting) in the 2700 block of West Burlington. At 4:54 p.m., Hillary Marie Handling, 25, of Ottumwa, was arrested and charged with fifth-degree theft. 6:24 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for rolling through a stop sign at 12th and Jefferson and then making a stop halfway through the intersection.

6:35 p.m. — Timothy Lee Ragen, 42, of Ames, was cited for driving while suspended, revoked, canceled or denied and failure to prove security against liability (nonaccident related) at Highway 1 and Libertyville Road.

7:31 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no driver-side brake light at Fourth and Kirkwood.

7:37 p.m. — A verbal warning for illegal passing was issued at Maple and Burlington.

8:12 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no brake lights at Fifth and Broadway.

8:33 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped for no license plates at Ninth and Broadway. The driver had a signed title and was within the time frame to register the vehicle. A verbal warning was issued for an expired driver’s license.

8:51 p.m. — An animal concern was reported in the 200 block of East Buchanan.

9:28 p.m. — Loud music was reported in the 1000 block of South Third Street.

10:10 p.m. — Police checked Reservoir No. 2 after park hours.

10:12 p.m. — Police checked Waterworks Park after park hours.

10:27 p.m. — Police checked O.B. Nelson Park after park hours.

10:30 p.m. — Police checked Lamson Woods after park hours.

10:40 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no driver-side headlight in the 1300 block of West Burlington.

11:06 p.m. — Police checked the Pence Elementary School building.

 

Tuesday

12:29 a.m. — Police checked the Sinclair Tractor building.

12:41 a.m. — Police checked Lamson Woods after park hours.

5:17 a.m. — Loud music was reported in the 1100 block of West Adams Court.

7:33 a.m. — A municipal infraction for speeding 35 mph in a 25 mph zone was issued to Jazmine Hotek at Pleasant Plain and Walton roads.

7:36 a.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued in the 800 block of West Briggs.

7:46 a.m. — Trespassing was reported in the 800 block of West Grimes.

8:03 a.m. — A deer was hit and injured at D and Madison.

8:45 a.m. — A road closing on Pine between 122nd and 124th was reported.

10:46 a.m. — Larceny theft was reported at Seventh and Jackson. At 11:01 a.m., Jeremy Bane, 28, of Indiana, was arrested at Second and Jackson for first-degree harassment and warrants out of Indiana, with full extradition.

12:12 p.m. — Two dogs were locked in a car in a parking lot in the 2700 block of West Burlington. The vehicle was not running and the windows were up. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.

1:48 p.m. — A verbal warning for a driver-side brake light outage was issued at C and Kirkwood.

2:45 p.m. — Police performed warrant service in the 800 block of South Fourth.

3:11 p.m. — Harassment was reported in the 50 block of South 12th.

3:22 p.m. — Larceny theft was reported in the 300 block of West Briggs.

3:37 p.m. — A verbal warning for a driver-side brake light outage was issued at Third and Burlington.

3:54 p.m. — A verbal warning for failure to stop and yield right of way was issued in the 2000 block of Wet Jefferson.

4:14 p.m. — Police assisted the ambulance in the 100 block of South Main.

4:40 p.m. — A civil issue was reported in the 1000 block of North Eighth.

5:38 p.m. — Extra patrol was requested at Kelp and Gear.

5:40 p.m. — A scam was reported in the 300 block of East Jefferson.

6:18 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no driver’s side brake light.

7:18 p.m. — An animal concern was reported in the 600 block of West Jackson.

7:27 p.m. — A suspicious person was reported near the Maharishi University of Management campus.

9:27 p.m. — Police investigated the theft of a motor vehicle in the 100 block of South Court.

10:24 p.m. — Police checked Waterworks Park after park hours.
