Police Report

The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Thursday

12:21 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Third and Grimes for making a wide turn onto Second Street off Burlington Avenue, and because the brake lights were stuck on and there were no plate lights. A verbal warning was issued. The driver was tested for alcohol. He was not intoxicated

8:10 a.m. — James Hill, 47, of Fairfield was arrested in the 800 block of West Lowe for assault (simple).

9:01 a.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 500 block of East Burlington.

11:47 a.m. — Police provided a funeral escort from First Lutheran Church to Evergreen Cemetery.

1:28 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 2000 block of North Court.

2:48 p.m. — A male subject was reported along the fence area of the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center outdoor pool watching the children. The caller had asked him what he was doing there. The subject said he was waiting for his granddaughter, but refused to give her name.

3:46 p.m. — A traffic accident was reported at Fifth and Washington. One person was injured. Joe Zapata was cited for failure to yield, no valid driver’s license and no insurance.

4:48 p.m. — Police investigated theft at the Fairfield Public Library.

5:07 p.m. — Police assisted the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.

5:28 p.m. — Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff Office on Highway 34, Exit 210, eastbound lane.

5:44 p.m. — A traffic accident was reported in the 200 block of South Main.

5:57 p.m. — An animal concern was reported in the 600 block of West Monroe.

7:05 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued in the 1000 block of Pleasant Plain Road for speeding.

8:18 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued in the 100 block of East Monroe for expired plates.

8:41 p.m. — Police signed for a brown chihuahua at Veterinary Clinic PC.

9:58 p.m. — Anthony Garza, 37, of Houston, Texas, was arrested in the 1000 block of North Fourth and charged with assault (simple), public consumption or intoxication, disorderly conduct and impersonating a public official.

9:57 p.m. — A loud noise complaint was reported in the 800 block of North Fourth.

10:53 p.m. — A loud noise complaint was reported in the 500 block of West Kirkwood.

11:19 p.m. — Police provided warrant service in the 1000 block of West Jefferson.
