The Fairfield Police Department reports the following incidents logged into dispatch:

Friday

12:04 p.m. — A traffic accident at the intersection of Ninth Street and Burlington Avenue was reported.

12:23 p.m. — Psychiatric behavior in the 1300 block of West Jackson Avenue was reported.

12:30 p.m. — A welfare check in the 900 block of North 10th Street was requested.

2 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

2:26 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

2:41 p.m. — Phone harassment at Parkview Care Center was reported.

3:03 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

3:50 p.m. — A traffic accident in the 1900 block of West Burlington Avenue was reported.

4:19 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Kirkwood Avenue and E Street for no driver-side brake light. A verbal warning was issued.

5:06 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

6:18 p.m. — Loud music in the 200 block of South 17th Street was reported.

7:01 p.m. — Police investigated harassment in the 700 block of North 10th Street.

7:08 p.m. — Police investigated shoplifting at Fairfield Walmart on West Burlington Avenue. At 7:35 p.m., Kayla Ann Irvine, 19, Fairfield, was arrested and charged with fifth-degree theft.

7:14 p.m. — Suspicious activity in the 700 block of North Court Street was reported.

7:33 p.m. — Possible vandalism in the 400 block of South 14th Street was reported.

8:07 p.m. — Police assisted a disabled vehicle in an alley near the intersection of Fourth Street and Kirkwood Avenue.

8:41 p.m. — A welfare check in the 300 block of East Briggs Avenue was performed.

8:57 p.m. — Police performed warrant service in the 1000 block of South Main Street.

9:21 p.m. — A citizen reported unconscious/fainting in the 800 block of West Fillmore Avenue.

9:46 p.m. — A disturbance in the 2100 block of West Burlington Avenue was reported. A welfare check was performed.

10:39 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a broken brake light at Briggs and Second.

10:48 p.m. — Suspicious activity in the 1300 block of West Jackson Avenue was reported.

10:48 p.m. — An officer advised people in Chautauqua Park of the park’s hours.

10:57 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

11:53 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

 

Saturday

12:16 a.m. — Police were investigating at C Street and Kirkwood Avenue.

2:27 a.m. — Drew A. Canaday, 23, of Fairfield was arrested for public intoxication in the 400 block of North Court Street.

2:48 a.m. — A citizen requested a welfare check on an intoxicated person at Washington Avenue and Highland Street.

3:24 a.m. — An intoxicated person was in the parking lot at Briggs Avenue and B Street.

7:45 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped for no driver-side headlight at Main and Buchanan. A verbal warning was issued.

8:41 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speeding at Highland and Burlington. A verbal warning was issued.

9:06 a.m. — A violation of a no-contact order was reported.

9:06 a.m. — A civil dispute was reported.

10:30 a.m. — Suspicious activity in the 200 block of West Burlington Avenue was reported.

11:50 a.m. — A disturbance in the 1000 block of East Briggs Avenue was reported.

12:16 p.m. — Police contacted MidWestOne Bank about its alarm.

1:32 p.m. — A no-contact order violation was reported.

2:16 p.m. — A motor vehicle accident in the 400 block of West Stone Avenue was reported.

2:20 p.m. — Police contacted Midwest Ambulance.

2:46 p.m. — Possible animal cruelty in the 100 block of South 17th Street was reported.

5:19 p.m. — Criminal mischief in the 1200 block of South Second Street was reported.

6:20 p.m. — A trespass complaint in the 800 block of West Taylor Avenue was made.

7:11 p.m. — A domestic disturbance in the 800 block of West Taylor Avenue was reported.

7:27 p.m. — A possible burglary in the 300 block of North Court Street was reported.

7:38 p.m. — A citizen reported an alarm sounding at the Fairfield postal anex.

8:23 p.m. — A domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Buchanan Avenue was reported. All the subjects said they were not fighting or arguing.

9:03 p.m. — Police assisted the ambulance in transporting a subject to Jefferson County Health Center.

10:26 p.m. — A complaint of loud music in the 800 block of West Briggs Avenue was received.

10:55 p.m. — An officer advised people in Waterworks Park of the park’s hours.

11:21 p.m. — A citizen called to report bad weather.

 

Sunday

12:45 a.m. — A suspicious vehicle at McDonald’s on West Burlington Avenue was reported.

1:02 a.m. — Police contacted TSC about its alarm.

3:28 a.m. — A citizen called to report bad weather.

3:44 a.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office at Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation on Gear Avenue.

3:53 a.m. — A possible domestic disturbance in the 700 block of West Stone Avenue was reported.

11:32 a.m. — Police answered questions regarding trespassing at Caribou Coffee on West Burlington Avenue.

11:57 a.m. — A citizen reported an open door in the 1100 block of South Eighth Street.

12:26 p.m. — Police investigated a vehicle burglary at Seventh Street and Jefferson Avenue.

12:58 p.m. — An officer’s presence was requested at Caibou Coffee.

1:08 p.m. — An accident was reported in the 100 block of North Fourth Street. Steven Walz was traveling north on Fourth Street, and Brandon Dean was backing out of his drive onto Fourth, but said a bush was obstructing his view. The vehicles collided. Dean was citied for driving under suspension and no insurance.

2:39 p.m. — An officer performed warrant service in the 300 block of Wilson Boulevard.

3:25 p.m. — A lost and found item at Burger King on West Burlington Avenue was reported.

4:18 p.m. — Police assisted a disabled vehicle at Brookville Road and Burlington Avenue.

5:15 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped in the 700 block of West Burlington Avenue for not stopping at a red light. A verbal warning was issued.

6:06 p.m. — Police assisted the Ottumwa Police Department.

6:28 p.m. — A controlled substance found in the 200 block of North 28th Street was reported.

7:01 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 600 block of West Monroe Avenue.

7:03 p.m. — Police assisted a disabled vehicle at Brookville Road and Burlington Avenue.

7:20 p.m. — A driver was warned for speeding at Second Street and Burlington Avenue.

7:39 p.m. — A driver was verbally warned of a traffic violation at Fourth Street and Broadway Avenue.

7:45 p.m. — A business at 16th and Grimes was contacted about its alarm.

9:15 p.m. — Police assisted the ambulance in the 300 block of North Sixth Street.

 

Monday

12:24 a.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

7:16 a.m. – A civil dispute was reported in the 100 block of West Madison Avenue.

7:39 a.m. – A vehicle was stopped for speeding at D Street and Lowe Avenue. A verbal warning was issued.

7:48 a.m. – A vehicle was stopped for speeding and expired registration at D Street and Lowe Avenue. A verbal warning was issued.

9:18 a.m. – A vehicle was stopped for not having plates at Fourth Street and Tyler Avenue. The vehicle was recently purchased.

8:18 a.m. – Behner Funeral Home requested a funeral escort.

8:26 a.m. – A vehicle was stopped for a broken brake light at Main Street and Grimes Avenue. A verbal warning was issued.

9:09 a.m. – A lost and found item was reported on Little Fawn Lane.
