Police

The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged into dispatch:

Monday

9:33 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped for a “slow and go” at Fourth Street and Kirkwood Avenue, and a verbal warning was issued.

9:47 aa.m. — Police assisted EMS.

10:15 a.m. — A citizen called about parking on the south side of the Jefferson County Courthouse.

10:51 a.m. — Police were asked to tell a resident in the 800 block of West Depot Avenue to tie up the dog.

11:17 a.m. — Police investigated burglary/breaking and entering in the 2800 block of West Grimes Avenue.

12:40 p.m. — Police checked a building in the 1100 block of South Eighth Street.

2:45 p.m. — Quality Quick Stop reported a subject did not pay for gas valued at $5.17. The subject later paid.

3::02 p.m. — Ottumwa Police Department advised of a missing person.

4:11 p.m. — Police investigated a weapon law violation at Ninth Street and Lowe Avenue.

7:24 p.m. — A welfare check was performed in the 400 block of North Fifth Street.

8:04 p.m. — Warrant service was performed in the 700 block of West Washington Avenue.

8:12 p.m. — Robert Rainville, 21, of Fairfield was arrested at Jefferson County Health Center on two warrants for fifth-degree theft.

9:39 p.m. — A citizen misdialed 911.

9:42 p.m. — Ottumwa Police Department advised of a missing person.

 

Tuesday

12:48 a.m. — Police assisted the Ottumwa Police Department.

1:35 a.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office on Highway 34 east of Exit 212.

4:34 a.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued in the 2800 block of West Burlington Avenue.

4:42 a.m. — Suspicious activity was reported at Walmart.

4:52 a.m. — Police performed a building check on the Fairfield square.

7:48 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Main and Fillmore for speeding. A verbal warning was issued.

8:20 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at D and Burlington for speeding. A verbal warning was issued.

 

Sheriff

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

Sunday

5:53 p.m. — A 2012 Chevrolet CRZ driven by Tana Jo Livingston, 34, of Ottumwa was traveling west on Highway 34 near mile marker 205 when a deer ran across her path. The vehicle struck the deer and received disabling damage estimated at $7,000.
