POLICE

The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at dispatch:

 

Tuesday

7:45 a.m. — A citation for excessive speed was issued to Jozsef Janos Szasz, 68, of Fairfield, at Sunny and Seventh.

9:16 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Madison and Third for a driver-side taillight/brake light outage. A verbal warning was issued.

9:34 a.m. — Criminal mischief was reported at Fairfield High School.

9:53 a.m. — Police responded to a LifeAlert call in the 200 block of South 28th.

10:04 a.m. — Trespassing was reported in the 50 block of North 12th.

1:40 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 1300 block of West Jackson.

2:02 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 200 block of Highland.

2:27 p.m. — A welfare check was requested in the 300 block of South Main.

2:44 p.m. — Police carried out a warrant service at Pierce Apartments.

3:01 p.m. — A traffic accident was reported at Second and Burlington.

3:30 p.m. — A parking complaint was reported in the 700 block of South Fifth.

3:54 p.m. — Theft was reported at C and Broadway.

4:02 p.m. — Police responded to an alarm at Casey’s General Store on Libertyville Road.

4:43 p.m. — Miscellaneous complaints were received in the 900 South Second.

5:07 p.m. — Michael Steele, 19, of Brighton, was arrested at the Jefferson County Jail on a warrant for sexual exploitation of a minor — cause to engage in act.

5:-07 p.m. — Sean Smith, 28, of Ottumwa, was arrested at the Jefferson County Jail on a warrant for probation violation.

5:09 p.m. — Assault was reported in the 400 block of North Fifth.

5:48 p.m. — A “fender bender” was reported in the Casey’s General Store parking lot on Libertyville Road.

6:46 p.m. — Police investigated offenses at Jefferson County Jail.

7:01 p.m. — Joshua Eugene Ross, 30, of Fairfield, was cited at Fourth and Broadway for driving while suspended, revoked, canceled or denied.

7:28 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued at D and Washington for a passenger-side headlight outage.

7:54 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speeding at Sixth and Burlington. A verbal warning was issued.

7:57 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued at Sixth and Burlington for a plate light outage.

8:29 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped at B and Kirkwood for not stopping at a red light. A verbal warning was issued.

8:45 p.m. — Police responded to a fire alarm at Fairfield High School; there was no fire.

10:39 p.m. — A caller reported a gray Pontiac Grand Am, with a male driver, driving through the Maharishi University of Management campus at a high rate of speed.

11:22 p.m. — Police advised subjects of the hours for Waterworks Park.

11:32 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Main and Harrison for a broken headlight. A verbal warning was issued.

 

Wednesday

12:41 a.m. — Police performed a building check at Fairfield Golf & Country Club and found the doors secured.

1:17 a.m. — Police performed a building check at Pence Elementary School and found the doors secured.

1:40 a.m. — Suspicious activity was reported at Lowe and Court.

4:04 a.m. — Police assisted Jefferson County Sheriffs Office on Highway 34 near mile marker 200.
