POLICE

Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Saturday

7:27 a.m. — Criminal mischief was reported in the 1300 block of West Stone.

12:29 p.m. — Extra patrol was requested in the 200 block of East Briggs.

1:01 p.m. — A utilities hazard was reported in the 1300 block of South Maple.

1:13 p.m. — An animal was reported in the 800 block of West Burlington.

1:26 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speeding at Kirkwood and Walton. Kimberly Lynn Millard, 49, of Birmingham, was cited for driving while suspended, revoked, canceled or denied. A verbal warning was issued for speeding and no current insurance card.

2:07 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speeding 35 mph in a 25 mph zone at Second and Lowe. A verbal warning was issued.

2:14 p.m. — Telephone harassment was reported in the 400 block of North B.

3:25 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speeding 35 mph in a 25 mph zone at Third and Kirkwood. A verbal warning was issued.

4:04 p.m. — Sam Douglas Spicer, 37, of Fairfield, was arrested in the 1300 block of West Burlington and charged with driving while under suspension.

4:44 p.m. — Police investigated a drugs-narcotic violation at Jefferson County Jail.

4:59 p.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office in the 1700 block of Brookville Road.

5:26 p.m. — Police assisted a motorist.

6:20 p.m. — A misdailed 911 call was received.

6:37 p.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office in the 2200 block of Glasgow Road.

7:02 p.m. — Police checked the Broadway Building.

7:08 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 900 block of West Harrison.

7:29 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a traffic violation at Second and Briggs.

7:34 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a broken headlight in the 1300 block of West Burlington.

7:40 p.m. — A parking issue was reported at CALU Apartments.

7:48 p.m. — A misdailed 911 call was received.

8:13 p.m. — Verbal warnings was issued for a broken headlight and no insurance card at Second and Washington.

8:16 p.m. — A barking dog complaint in the 400 block of West Madison was received.

8:22 p.m. — A weapons law violation was reported in the 700 block of West Grimes.

8:09 p.m. — A civil dispute was reported at CALU Apartments.

10:22 p.m. — An injured deer was reported at Seventh and Sunny Lane.

11:-9 p.m. — A verbal warning for a headlight violation was issued at Madison and Main.

11:20 p.m. — Police spoke with a driver at Third and Adams about turning off bright lights.

 

SHERIFF

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports the following:

 

Friday

12:29 a.m. — Anthony Philip Lentz, 19, of Fairfield, lost control of a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu while traveling up the westbound off-ramp at exit 214 from Highway 34 and struck the “all services” road sign support owned by the Iowa Department of Transportation. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $7,000. Lentz was charged with failure to maintain control and failure to provide proof of financial liability.

 

Saturday

4:59 p.m. — While traveling west, Sophia Medvedeva, 22, of Fairfield, lost control of a 2015 Toyota Camry in the 1700 block of Brookville Road. The vehicle left the road and struck several fence posts and farm gates before entering a ditch, completing a 180-degree spin and coming to rest striking a fence. The driver was uninjured. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000. Damage to the fence, posts and gates was estimated at $2,500. Medvedeva was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated-first offense.

6:37 p.m. — Keith Randall Norton, 33, of Fairfield, was traveling north in the 2200 block of Glasgow Road when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. His 2005 Saturn Ion went onto the right side shoulder of the road and into the ditch, coming to rest against a pole. The driver was not injured. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
