POLICE

The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Sunday

12:07 a.m. — A misdialed 911 call was received.

12:38 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no license plates at Ninth and Broadway.

1:59 a.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 400 block of North F.

2:26 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no license plates at Fourth and Burlington.

3:43 a.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office on Highway 34 east of exit 210. Police stopped a vehicle that was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. The vehicle was escorted to a parking lot where they could get some sleep.

4:23 a.m. — Parking in the 100 block of North Court was checked.

5:03 a.m. — A verbal warning for speeding was issued at Burlington and Maple.

8:24 a.m. — Police investigated counterfeiting/forgery.

10:05 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at F and Kirkwood for traveling 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. A verbal warning was issued.

10:17 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped near Evergreen Cemetery for traveling 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. A verbal warning was issued.

10:34 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at B and Broadway for traveling 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. A verbal warning was issued.

10:52 a.m. — A theft was reported at Golden Dome Market.

11:26 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped for passing on the right at Second and Burlington. A verbal warning was issued.

1:07 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 1000 block of West Hempstead.

1:39 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Third and Briggs for expired registration. John David Wendell, 72, of Fairfield, was cited for operating a non-registered vehicle.

2:11 p.m. — A controlled substance was found in the 300 block of West Washington.

2:48 p.m. — Larceny theft was reported in the 300 block of East Burlington.

3:59 p.m. — Cheyenne Rae Brown, 19, of Fairfield, was arrested in the 600 block of West Van Buren on a warrant for violation of a no-contact order.

5:23 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for passing on the right at Second and Broadway.

5:32 p.m. — Harassment was reported in the 200 block of East Briggs.

6:42 p.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued at 12th and Jefferson.

7:07 p.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued at B and Madison.

7:49 p.m. — Justin Harvey Garrison, 19, of Fairfield, was stopped at Second and Burlington. He was citied for careless driving and no SR 22 Insurance on file as required.

8:11 p.m. — Loud music was reported in the 300 block of East Burlington.

9:26 p.m. — Harassment was reported in the 300 block of East Buchanan.

9:29 p.m. — Loud music was reported in the 300 block of East Burlington.

10:54 p.m. — Ottumwa police provided information about a missing person/runaway.

11:54 p.m. — Bad weather was reported.

 

Monday

6:08 a.m. — An investigation led to the arrest of Michael Alan Shepherd, 36, of Fairfield, at 7:06 a.m. at the Jefferson County Law Center. Grimes was arrested on a warrant for violation of order of protection.

7:46 a.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 200 block of North 28th.

7:56 a.m. — A wildlife deer kill was reported in the 100 block of North Main.

8:20 a.m. — Robert Paul Palm, 68, of Fairfield, was cited for passing contrary to highway sign or marking at Burlington and 23rd. A verbal warning was issued for no insurance.

9:57 a.m. — Megan Marie Either, 24, of Fairfield, was cited for driving while suspended, revoked, canceled or denied at Main and Harrison.

10:17 a.m. — Vera Rhodes, 65, of Fairfield, was arrested for a warrant at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

10:25 a.m. — A violation of a no-contact order was reported at Jefferson County Courthouse.

11:06 a.m. — A stray dog was reported in the 1300 block of West Burlington.

12:04 p.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office with a warrant check in the 1000 block of West Carpenter.

12:10 p.m. — A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 400 block of West Burlington.

12:45 p.m. — A lost-and-found was reported in the 400 block of East Broadway.

12:58 p.m. — Vandalism was reported in the 600 block of East Broadway.

2:01 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Broadway and Fourth for speeding 36 mph in a 25 mph zone. A verbal warning was issued.

2:11 p.m. — A misdialed 911 call was received.

2:52 p.m. — Trespassing was reported in the 100 block of South Main.

3:45 p.m. — A car accident was reported in the 600 block of West Burlington. No injuries were reported.

4:09 p.m. — A misdialed 911 call was received.

4:49 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 2800 block of West Grimes.

5:09 p.m. — A noise complaint of loud music was reported in the 200 block of South 15th.

6:11 p.m. — A courtesy missing-persons report was taken for Sparks, Nevada, Police Department.

6:26 p.m. — Nelson Figueroa, 32, of Fairfield, was cited at B and Kirkwood for operation with canceled title or suspended or revoked registration.

7:37 p.m. — A civil matter was reported in the 400 block of North Fourth.

8:02 p.m. — A loud noise complaint was reported in the 200 block of East Buchanan.

8:38 p.m. — A vehicle was stopped for speed at Ninth and Burlington. A verbal warning was issued.

8:44 p.m. — A theft was reported in the 100 block of North Main.

8:57 p.m. — A burglary/breaking and entering was reported in the 60 block of North Court.

9:12 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check in the 800 block of West Briggs.

10:01 p.m. — Police performed a welfare check at Sixth and Grimes.

10:27 p.m. — A civil dispute was reported in the 400 block of West Broadway.

10:28 p.m. — A complaint about a dog was made in the 100 block of South 17th.

11:10 p.m. — A civil dispute was reported in the 400 block of West Broadway.

 

Tuesday

12:37 a.m. — Larceny theft was reported in the 200 block of East Buchanan.

2:07 a.m. — A vehicle was stopped at Second and Van Buren for a broken headlight. A verbal warning was issued.

 

SHERIFF

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports the following:

 

Sunday

8:39 p.m. — Kimberly Louise Wilson, 49, of Mt. Pleasant was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion eastbound on Highway 34, east of Varnishtree Avenue, and struck a deer in the roadway. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.

 

Monday

4:43 a.m. — Brody Scott Reid, 23, of Fairfield was driving a 2005 Pontiac east on Highway 34. He stated that he fell asleep, left the roadway and stopped in the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at $2,000.
