The Fairfield Police reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Friday

4:11 p.m. — Police responded to a business alarm at Kum & Go.

4:13 p.m. — A traffic accident was reported at South B and East Adams.

5:13 p.m. — Disorderly conduct was reported at George’s Pizza.

7:48 p.m. — Weapons were reported at Parkview Care Center.

8:40 p.m. — Police investigated assault-simple at Walmart.

9:12 p.m. — Police assisted the Ottumwa Police Department.

10:35 p.m. — Police assisted a probation officer in the 500 block of East Adams.

 

Saturday

12:03 a.m. — Police assisted the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.

1:05 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a traffic violation in the 1100 block of Goldfinch.

8:06 a.m. — Cranston Family Funeral Home requested a funeral escort.

8:14 a.m. — Police checked on a motorist in a stalled vehicle in the 700 block of North B.

10:22 a.m. — A traffic accident was reported at Fourth and Burlington.

10:35 a.m. — Behner Funeral Home requested a funeral escort.

11:30 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no driver-side brake light at Burlington and Court.

11:54 a.m. — Theft was reported at Easy Wash Laundry.

12:34 p.m. — Loud music was reported in the 200 block of South 28th.

5:18 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for no driver-side headlight in the 200 block of West Burlington.

6:11 p.m. — An animal was reported in the 600 block of East Kirkwood.

7:43 p.m. — Police investigated kidnapping/abduction in the 100 block of North Main.

7:50 p.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

8:29 p.m. — A civil issue was reported in the 700 block of West Grimes.

11:18 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued after police stopped a vehicle because the registered owner does not have a license. The driver was not the registered owner.

 

Sunday

12:13 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a stop light violation on Highway 1 at the Maharishi University of Management.

12:55 a.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

1:57 a.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

3:07 a.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

5:15 a.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

10:09 a.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office at Eighth and Harrison.

10:29 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for running a stop light at 12th and Jefferson.

11:41 a.m. — A misdialed 911 call was received.

2:54 p.m. — A utilities hazard was reported in the 400 block of East Madison.

3:19 p.m. — Police were asked to check on the welfare of a family.

3:46 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for failure to stop at Sixth and Jefferson.

4:50 p.m. — Police provided assistance at Jefferson County Jail.

5:52 p.m. — Michael Evan Thurston, 36, of Fairfield was arrest at his home and charged with assault-simple.

6:37 p.m. — Police assisted the 8th Judicial District Court in Washington, Iowa.

7:22 p.m. — Police responded to a fire call in the 800 block of West Hempstead.

7:56 p.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

10:45 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a traffic violation at Fourth and Depot.

10:51 p.m. — An alarm sounded in the 100 block of West Grimes.

11:50 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a traffic violation at Main and Burlington.

 

Monday

104 a.m. -- A misdialed 911 call was received.

2:20 a.m. -- Police were asked to perform a welfare check at Super 8.

2:56 a.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

 

Tuesday

7:18 a.m. -- A verbal warning for fraudulent use of registration was issued at Main and Fillmore.

7:42 a.m. -- A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued on Fourth on the Maharishi University of Management campus.

10:18 a.m. -- A traffic accident was reported at Burlington and 12th. A fire hydrant was hit.

10:30 a.m. -- Police assisted the Fairfield Fire Department for an alarm call at Performance Pipe.

12:27 p.m. -- Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 1100 block of West Burlington.

12:40 p.m. -- A verbal warning for no front plate was issued at Seventh and Jefferson.

12:41 p.m. -- Police assisted the Fairfield Fire Department at a fire in Utopia Park.

2:46 p.m. -- A misdialed 911 call was received.

2:57 p.m. -- A misdialed 911 call was received.

3:57 p.m. -- A misdialed 911 call was received.

4:23 p.m. -- A lost-and-found item was reported at Revelations Cafe.

7:52 p.m. -- Theft was reported in the 800 block of West Depot.

7:47 p.m. -- Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

7:50 p.m. -- Information about a missing person was received from the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office.

8:29 p.m. -- A verbal warning for no tail lights was issued at B and Stone.

9:18 p.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

9:36 p.m. -- Police assisted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office assisted on Highway 1.

10:48 p.m. -- Bad weather was reported.

 

SHERIFF

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports the following:

 

Dec. 28

1:18 p.m. — Two vehicles collided at the end of the Highway 34 eastbound off-ramp. Jay Dean Johnson, 61, of Stratford, stopped his 2013 GMC SUV at the stop sign at the end of the off-ramp. A 2000 Nissan driven by Nathaniel James Metcalf of Ames, slid on the snowpacked roadway into the left rear corner of Johnson’s vehicle. Damage was estimated at $500 to Johnson’s vehicle and $2,000 to Metcalf’s vehicle.

 

Saturday

11:20 a.m. — Ryan Richard Reed, 21, of Marshalltown lost control of his 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 2200 block of Marigold Boulevard. The vehicle entered the ditch and rolled onto its top. Damage was estimated at $10,000. Reed was charged with driving while license under suspension and failure to maintain control.

 

Tuesday

5:10 p.m. — Kyle Schrobilgen, 20, of Fairfield, was stopped for a traffic violation at Highway 1 and Airport Road, then arrested on a warrant. He also was cited for no driver’s license, speed and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
