The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports the following:

 

Thursday

3:03 p.m. — Zachary Bishop, 26, of Fairfield, was arrested at Sixth and Adams. Bishop was charged with driving while barred.

 

POLICE

The Fairfield Police Department reports the following logged at Dispatch:

 

Jan. 3

7:53 a.m. — An intoxicated person was reported in the 600 block of East Broadway.

9:09 a.m. — Police investigated drugs/narcotic violations in the 600 block of East Broadway.

10:31 a.m. — Rafael McAnally, 31, of Richland was arrested on warrants for operation without owner’s consent and warrants for seven additional traffic violations.

11:02 a.m. — A juvenile issue was reported in the 600 block of East Broadway.

11:22 a.m. — A caller reported his sister hit a no-parking sign at Broadway and Ninth.

1:03 p.m. — Reports were received of shots fired in the 800 block of West Depot. The resident said it was fireworks.

3:55 p.m. — Harassment was reported in the 900 block of South Main.

4:10 p.m. — Extra patrol was requested in the 100 block of South Court.

4:25 p.m. — Traffic violations were reported.

5:06 p.m. — A utilities hazard was reported in the 200 block of West Grimes.

5:44 p.m. — A person with psychiatric behavior was reported in the 2000 block of North Court.

5:59 p.m. — Bad weather was reported.

6:55 p.m. — An alarm sounded in the 400 block of South Fourth.

7:02 p.m. — Police assisted Jefferson County Jail.

8:07 p.m. — Harassment was reported in the 200 block of South 15th.

11:56 p.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of North Court.

 

Thursday

12:10 a.m. — A motor vehicle theft was reported in the 400 block of North Court.

12:48 a.m. — Police checked on the welfare of a motorist in the 1500 block of South Main.

1:16 a.m. — Police advised people of the Walton Lake park hours and asked them to move along.

1:58 a.m. — Loud music was reported in the 1100 block of West Adams Court.

2:04 a.m. — A misdialed 911 call was received.

2:34 a.m. — Bad weather was reported.

3:06 a.m. — Police assisted the Fairfield Fire Department in the 200 block of East Burlington. A caller woke to the smell of something electrical burning, but no smoke or flames. Everything appeared OK.

8:45 a.m. — A crew informed Dispatch they would be working in a confined space at the Highway 34 Lift Station.

9:16 a.m. — Police provided assistance at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

10:30 a.m. — Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle in the 100 block of West Adams.

10:31 a.m. — Police were asked to check on the welfare of a person in the 200 block of East Pierce.

11:51 a.m. — A trespassing complaint was made in the 1300 block of West Burlington.

12:23 p.m. — April Catherine Leahy, 37, of Fairfield, was cited for operation without registration at Third and Burlington.

12:47 p.m. — Police investigated assault-simple reported in the 2200 block of Highway 34 West.

1:20 p.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a traffic violation at Second and Briggs.

3:03 p.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office at Sixth and Adams.

3:28 p.m. — Police provided warrant service in the 50 block of South 12th.

5:06 p.m. — Police assisted Jefferson County Jail.

5:53 p.m. — Police assisted the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.

5:57 p.m. — Police attempted to make contact with subjects at Buchanan Apartments.

7:06 p.m. — Police assisted Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.

7:33 p.m. — A controlled substance was reported in the 600 block of West Jackson.

7:50 p.m. — A verbal warning for no taillights was issued in the 600 block of East Broadway.

9:31 p.m. — Police assisted the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.

9:43 p.m. — A verbal warning for expired plates was issued in the 600 block of West Burlington.

11:27 p.m. — A misdialed 911 call was received.

 

Friday

1:29 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a nonworking plate light at Glasgow and Madison.

2:19 a.m. — A verbal warning was issued for a nonworking headlamp at Seventh and Jackson.

2:51 a.m. — Police advised two people of the O.B. Nelson Park hours.

Monday

8:40 a.m. — A person was reported missing in the 3000 block of West Burlington. The person was later located.

8:45 a.m. — South Second Street from Monroe Avenue to Van Buren Avenue is closed.

9:20 a.m. — Suspicious behavior was reported in the 200 block of West Briggs.

10:48 a.m. — A traffic accident, with property damage, was reported in the 2100 block of West Burlington. Information was exchanged.

11:01 a.m. — Motor vehicle theft was reported in the 1500 block of Woodside Circle. A grandson had borrowed a car without permission.

11:04 a.m. — Suspicious activity was reported in the 1200 block of West Burlington.

Noon — Police investigated a theft of tools in the 500 block of East Buchanan.

12:13 p.m. — Extended parking was reported in the 400 block of West Hempstead.

12:37 p.m. — Wapello County Sheriff’s Office reported a missing person/runaway.

2:09 p.m. — A verbal warning about loud exhaust was issued at Sixth and Stone.

2:23 p.m. — A traffic accident was reported at Third and Lowe. Denise Stevens turned from Lowe on to Third heading north. Marjorie Millane pulled out of the parking lot in the northeast corner. The vehicles collided. Names were exchanged and Millane was cited for failure to yield when entering through highway.

4:59 p.m. — A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 600 block of West Monroe.

6:13 p.m. — Police assisted the sheriff’s office in the 50 block of South 12th.

6:23 p.m. — Trespassing was reported in the 50 block of South Eighth.

7:13 p.m. — A building security check was performed at Norm’s Rental and Storage Unit.

7:58 p.m. — A welfare check was requested in the 1100 block of University Manor Drive.

8:07 p.m. — A welfare check was requested at Ninth and Stone.

11:03 p.m. — A welfare check was requested in the 300 block of East Briggs.

11:57 p.m. — Phone harassment was reported in the 800 block of West Broadway.

 

Tuesday

12:36 a.m. — A verbal warning for a traffic violation was issued at 15th and Washington.

7:18 a.m. — Police investigated destruction/damage/vandalism of property in the Faircast parking lot. The window, window trim and hood of a pickup was damaged.

7:40 a.m. — A vehicle was reported stolen in the 200 block of East Burlington. The victim did not want to file charges.

8:13 a.m. — A motorist assist/dangerous driver was reported at the northeast corner of the Fairfield square.

8:21 a.m. — A crew notified Dispatch they would be working in a confined space at the Highway 34 Lift Station.

8:43 a.m. — Police assisted the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.

9:19 a.m. — A lost-and-found item was reported in the 700 block of North Fifth.

9:23 a.m. — A suspicious person was reported in the 700 block of North Ninth.

12:38 p.m. — Police assisted the ambulance in the 2100 block of Pearl Lane.

2:10 p.m. — A parking issue was reported in the 400 block of West Broadway.

2:20 p.m. — A parking ticket was issued for extended parking in the 400 block of West Hempstead.

2:30 p.m. — A verbal warning for not making a complete stop was issued on the north side of the Fairfield square.

2:37 p.m. — A verbal warning for expired plates was issued in the 700 block of West Burlington.
