Fairfield Police Department received the following calls at dispatch:


7:05 a.m. caller reported a bridge on a walking path in park damaged, possibly from fallen tree; park department supervisor Pam Craff notified.

8:25 a.m. business owner reported a break in to business building. Window in front door broken, rock found on front porch. The doorframe also was damaged, door looks as if it was kicked in. Broken glass and broken pieces of the doorframe were scattered around the front door. No items were reported missing. Owner said it may have happened overnight; he had driven past business around noon Sunday and everything was OK. Damage is estimated at $500. Police located a box fan and branch shears on front porch; items were seized and taken to police station for review, these could be items from another case.

8:37 a.m. red signal lights broken off and hanging on crossing arm.

1:56 p.m. a black and brown female mixed breed dog with a collar was running around Pence Elementary School and managed to get into the building a few times; principal called to have dog picked up. Police took dog to vet clinic.

2:41 p.m. police recovered stolen vehicle, found parked in a park, it was stolen over the weekend. Owner doesn’t want anything done, will pick up vehicle.

4:08 p.m. report of theft of a garden bench and water thermos, each valued at $20, taken from a front yard.

5:31 p.m. caller reported a large piece of cardboard on fire. Fairfield Fire Department arrived, but flame was already extinguished.

5:41 p.m. a small, tan, male dog was taken to the vet clinic.

6:24 p.m. an abandoned women’s purple Schwinn bicycle was placed in police impound.

8:18 p.m. caller waiting at railroad crossing reported a kid on a bike, no shirt, wearing a red and white hat, went around crossing arms and across tracks, barely making it through.

8:35 p.m. caller reported a lost brown shar pei dog wearing a blue collar with tags.

9:57 p.m. Ryan Taylor, 20, was arrested outside Walmart, charged with fifth-degree theft.

10:10 p.m. Troy Lyons, 21, was arrested in Walmart parking lot for driving while restricted.



1:47 p.m. caller reported a hit and run; sometime between 4 p.m. Saturday and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, likely while parked at Walmart or the Friends Church. The 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer has right rear bumper damage.

7:53 p.m. report of theft – a box fan and tree branch shears were taken from a residence.
