The Fairfield Police Department reports the following incidents logged into dispatch:

 

July 29

7 p.m. — Officers issued several junk vehicle notices.

8:14 p.m. — A caller said students were drinking in Waterworks Park.

10:34 p.m. — Jeremy Allen Strayer, 40, of Keosauqua, was cited for driving while suspended, revoked, canceled or denied.

 

July 30

12:45 a.m. — A caller reported theft of a motor vehicle in the 900 block of West Harrison Avenue. Police responded and determined it was a civil matter.

12:51 a.m. — A subject in the 100 block of West Madison Avenue was told to turn their music down. Police received another complaint about the same residence at 2:25 a.m. Officers told the subject that if they were called to the residence again, the subject would be cited.

3:20 a.m. — Police received a call about public fighting near the intersection of Fourth Street and Polk Avenue, but were unable to locate anyone upon investigation.

6:32 p.m. — A caller in the 1000 block of Grand Park Drive reported theft of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was recovered later that day.

8:28 p.m. — A caller complained about receiving a harassing message. Police responded and determined the incident did not qualify as harassment. Officers advised the subject to block the person who sent her the message.

10:29 p.m. — A caller reported vandalism on the Maharishi University of Management campus.

10:48 p.m. — Police reminded people in Waterworks Park that the park was closed and that they had to leave.

11:32 p.m. — A theft was reported in the 900 block of West Grimes Avenue.

 

Wednesday

12:37 a.m. — A citizen advised of suspicious activity in the 100 block of North Fourth Street.

10:44 a.m. — A citizen advised of fraud in the 300 block of Iowa Avenue.

12:13 p.m. — A citizen advised of harassing phone calls from an individual stating that he had stolen his car. He didn’t know the name of the individual calling, but he wanted the calls to stop.

12:20 p.m. — Steven Scotton was arrested on warrants for second-degree theft, and for ongoing criminal conduct.

4:35 p.m. — A caller advised of “boom-boxers” at the Roosevelt Community Recreation Center’s outdoor pool. Police were unable to locate anyone.

2:47 p.m. — A citizen advised of fraud in the 300 block of Adams Avenue.

6:45 p.m. — A citizen advised of phone harassment in the 600 block of West Monroe Avenue.

 

Thursday

9:16 p.m. — Alexander Simpson of Fairfield was arrested on three warrants for violating probation.

2:02 p.m. — Victoria Marie Goematt, 42, of Douds was arrested at Walmart on Burlington Avenue and charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia and for third-degree theft.

 

Friday

1:15 a.m. — A citizen advised of a burglary in the 900 block of West Harrison Avenue.

 

Saturday

1:29 p.m. — Timothy Karbacka, 43, was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine and for drug tax stamp violation.

6:27 p.m. — Police are investigating the theft an AC compressor valued at $1,400.

6:32 p.m. — A citizen advised of a theft at Pizza Ranch on Burlington Avenue.
