The Fairfield Police Department reports the following incidents logged into dispatch:

 

Monday

12:34 p.m. — First National Bank on Main Street advised of receiving a torn counterfeit bill. Officers spoke with the subject who tried to make change at the bank. The subject said he received the bill from his cousin, who had washed the bill with his laundry. The officers told the subject to have his cousin call the Jefferson County Law Center as soon as possible.

5:01 p.m. — Police responded to an assault call from Parkview Care Center. Upon officers’ arrival, a resident had been restrained. Officers placed the resident in hand cuffs until he calmed down. The center requested that the resident be transported by emergency services to the Jefferson County Health Center.

7:30 p.m. — Police are investigating a report of a dog attack in the 900 block of Sunset Drive.

7:30 p.m. — Alex Joseph Derr, 30, of Cedar Rapids was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

9:28 p.m. — The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office reported a missing person.

10:13 p.m. — Police are investigating a report of a burglary in the 500 block of South Fifth Street.

10:18 p.m. — A citizen advised of what sounded like gunshots in the 500 block of South 15th Street.

 

Tuesday

2:05 a.m. — A citizen advised of a crossing arm malfunction at the railroad tracks on D Street. The lights were flashing, but there was no sign of a train.

3:08 a.m. — Officers checked on a vehicle with its domelight on at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
