The Comets knew that playing perennial powerhouse Iowa City Regina would test them in every way possible.

Cardinal (1-4) was not up to the challenge, and lost 51-0.

Regina has now won 47 straight games and has also won three straight state championships. It’s safe to say that Cardinal was thoroughly outmatched.

Cardinal’s top rusher Tyler Albert only managed three yards on the ground. Regina made it difficult for the Comets to move the football the entire night. This is the second time this season Regina has shutout an opponent.

Nathan Yeager is putting forth one of the best seasons of any defender in the area. Yeager made 13 tackles for the Comets Friday to lead the team. Mike Owings was second on the team in tackles with seven.

Cardinal will attempt to get back to winning Friday when it hosts Wilton.
