The Fairfield Art Association will be hosting printmaking classes with artist and printmaker Kella J. Tschopp from 7-9 p.m. beginning March 14 in the Fairfield Art Association Studio in the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.

Techniques of both relief printing and dry point will be offered in the same class, where participants will be guided to develop an idea or drawing plan into a creative print experience.

All levels of interest and experience are invited to attend. Most materials are provided.

Tschopp asks students “to bring visual images, sketches, doodles or photographs, and “Let’s make art.”

It all begins with a participant’s ideas in a design space of basic shapes. The participant will then develop the level of the design’s complexity and prepare the plates for the process of hand rubbed and press printing.

The class will be on-going if attendance and interest continue. Cost is $15 for Fairfield Art Association members and $17 for nonmembers per session.

Anyone can join the art association anytime, and membership includes other benefits throughout the year.

The class size will be limited.

To pre-register for the class, contact Tschopp by email at kj_studio@mchsi.com or 641-799-3209.
