Quilts sought for Van Buren festival

Aug 27, 2013

BONAPARTE — Bonaparte United Church and Bonaparte Main Street Inc. will co-sponsor a quilt show during the Van Buren County Scenic Drive Festival Oct. 12-13 at the church.

The hours for the show will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 and noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 13. A free will offering is requested for admission, and light refreshments will be served by the United Christian Women at no charge.

The event will be a show only, no judging, except for peoples’ choice in each category.

Organizers will be accepting for display: quilts, wall hangings, table runners, heirloom quilts, baby quilts and more.

Area quilters, young and old, new and seasoned, are asked to bring their items for display. No limit has been set on the number of items entered, and entry is free.

Entry forms are requested to be completed and returned by Oct. 1. Forms are available by contacting Jean Wenke at 641-233-7917 or wenke@netins.net.

Items being shown must be delivered to the church either between 4-7 p.m. Oct. 9 or between noon and 4 p.m. Oct. 10 to allow time to get everything displayed.

Items will need to be picked up between noon and 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at the church unless other arrangements have been made.

For more information, contact Wenke.
